NHS Evidence Annual Evidence Updates: April

NHS Evidence’s Specialist Collections are web-based collections which have been specially developed to meet the needs of particular communities of practice. Each Specialist Collection provides access to quality information of relevance to the community which it serves. The Annual Evidence Updates aim to highlight the best current evidence for selected healthcare topics.

12 April

Annual Evidence Update on Cardiac Rehabilitation – Drawing together evidence from systematic reviews and other high quality evidence.

Annual Evidence Update on Colorectal Cancer – This Evidence Update will include a guest editorial from Alan Horgan (Nuffield Health, Newcastle Upon Tyne), plus the latest systematic review, guidance and patient information.

Annual Evidence Update on Pain - This Evidence Update will cover pain management in cancer and non-cancer chronic disease patients.

The Update will provide an overview of the preventative interventions for childhood obesity and international surveillance activities.

NHS Evidence – Commissioning is the specialist collection put together by the King’s Fund for NHS Evidence which aims to provide timely and efficient access to high quality information resources for those involved in commissioning for health.

The specialist collection aims to include the best available evidence, alongside examples of best practice, policy and data to support World Class Commissioning.

Users can subscribe to an RSS Feed which will keep them updated with all the most up to date content on NHS Evidence – Commissioning. The RSS Feed is available here.

New NHS Evidence Specialist Collection – Quality and Productivity

NHS Evidence has launched a new Specialist Collection – Quality and Productivity – which aims to be the central resource of evidence on how to improve quality and productivity in the NHS. Evidence is organised around care pathways.

The collection is being built by contributions from across the NHS and includes examples of innovative practices that can be shared with all staff. The examples of improvements range from one-off staudies in single organisations to robustly tested large scale changes that have been replicated in multiple organisations and have had results published in academic journals.
