New Journals

February 4, 2009

We now have access to two new electronic journals through the National Library for Health, Contraception and Health and Place.

Contraception is the official journal of the Association of Reproductive Health Professionals and the Society of Family Planning. Its aim is to provide a medium for the rapid communication of advances and new knowledge in all areas of contraception.

Health and Place is an interdisciplinary journal dedicated to the study of all aspects of health and health care in which place or location matters. Topics covered include medical geography, medical sociology, health policy, public health and epidemiology.

Both of these journals can be accessed through the ‘My Journals’ link on the National Library for Health website using your Athens username and password.

Athens Registration Through NLH

January 15, 2009

NHS Western Cheshire staff are eligible to register for Athens which will allow them to access our collection of electronic books and journals, plus resources including Martindale and the Royal Marsden Manual of Clinical Nursing Procedures.

You can register for an Athens username and password at the National Library for Health website (www.library.nhs.uk). The registration process has now been made simpler, and when your account has been activated it will be possible to log in with your e-mail address rather than your username.

See this step by step guide to setting up your own Athens account.
